China helps Haiti with a Pledge, but just match Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's donation.
Ok, I was looking at the list of countries pledging donations to help Haiti in the aftermath of the 7.0 earthquake. The news said China had pledged $1 Million dollars and had sent 60 rescuers to help save people trapped in buildings. I am thrilled they sent the rescuers but was appalled that China pledged only $1 Million dollars. As I said in the title of this Blog post, Angelina & Brad donated $1 million and the Chinese could at least pledge $10 million given the world came to its country to help in their earthquake not long ago. China needs to learn how to express compassion during a crisis proportionate with their status a a leader on the world stage. Heck, just pledge the money in U.S. dollars if you are worrying, since you worry they may be worth less anyway. While I am at it, let me praise Angelina and Brad for really stepping up to the plate and donating so much money to help the Haitians. God help those poor people suffering beyond imagination.

Okay China's Red Cross donated one million dollars not the Chinese Government. China's government is sending about 4.4 million in aid. And Haiti recognizes Taiwan not China. So that is nice of China especially since China had police officers there before the earthquake.
China sits on top of the world largest foreign exchange reserve and those miserable bastards only pledged a million dollars. What a god damn disgrace.
i think it's kinda bad, i mean it looks terrible for them to contribute just million dollars, they are a huge country..well at least the usa contributed 100 million dollars, canada contributed 50 million. China you dissapoint me, but then again they are not known for compassion or humanitarian work, they are cold people.
China is a very poor country where hunger and poverty is still a very common sight. A big reason the United States is sending millions of dollars of aid along with soldiers is to prevent illegal haitians entering from the US.
Also, in a way, China is pledging 100 million dollars to the Haitian relief effort. The US is going to have to borrow it from them anyway and I think they can forget about ever getting the principal back on the loans they're making to us.
I find it is unfair to blame China so much. Sure they have a huge GDP, but their PPP is so low; around $300 I believe. So we can hardly expect them to donate millions. And saying the Chinese are cold is just plain racist. I'm sure most of these "anonymous" commenters are American, and wouldn't appreciate it if I claimed that all Americans are fat and moronic.
