The Airbus 380 extravaganza
Airbus 380 lands in NY at 12:12pm. It is huge and the fuel it uses is immoral. Someone should do a check on the amount of CO2 it adds to the environment. Where’s Al Gore when you need him! Oh, and notice what country is flying this one already.
Despite its ability to carry 35 per cent more passengers than its competitor, the A380 burns 12 per cent less fuel per seat – reducing operating costs and minimising its effects on the environment at the same time through fewer emissions. The A380 burns fuel per passenger at a rate comparable to that of an economical family car.
Anonymous, first, thanks for your comment. The information you provide is indeed interesting. However, just because the amount the Airbus 380 burns 12% less fuel per seat, you have missed the point. The total amount f emissions of this aircraft is obscene no matter how you want to make the numbers look favorable. The problem is there are more people flying every year and more planes are taking to the skies and instead of using technology to cut down on the number of trips we need to make your argument tries to justify more flying since, on a per passenger basis, it is 12% less fuel per passenger. Technology today has made it so that more an more people can take advantage of the internet and greater broadband width to video conference and not fly which can significantly reduce the CO2 emissions. Look into Cisco's new Telepresence Technology for how the world is beginning to connect and save greenhouse gases. Thanks again for your comment.
