Amazing: France declares war against al-Qaeda
So I just saw this article posted on Yahoo.com and was so surprised I had to comment. Where has France been these past 9 years? Doesn't it know the Brits have been fighting Al Qaeda with us and so has NATO forces. I know the President of France is reacting to the killing of a humanitarian worker from France who was killed in Niger. But Al-Qaeda has been killing people from all over the world for a long time. I'm not saying I don't appreciate our allies really being committed to this, it's just a surprise it took 9 years for a Declaration like this.

I feel your analysis is on the mark. And this is in a world where a major international incident or terrorism at home in the U.S. could trigger a sell off at any time.

Thanks fir the kind words, Thor. Isn't it just amazing that France declares war now, 9 years later. It most likely has troops in NATO in Afghanistan, but maybe Prime Minister Francois Fillon forgot.
