Why haven't the Teabaggers complained about the High Court taking away Miranda rights? Because the Teabaggers are really a fraud!

This is the reality of the Tea Bag movement which formed since Barack Obama was elected President. Their claim is that they have risen up to fight and stop President Obama and his Administration's attempt to take away their Constitutional Rights. They are worried he is going to take away their right to bear arms, even though he has never said that or implied that. They say he and his Administration are against free enterprise and want to make this a Socialist Country, because he bailed out the large Banks and the Auto Industry. These Teabaggers act purist but are anything but.

This morning there was an article on Yahoo.com about the High Court and their decisions over the last 10 years to limit Miranda rights. The title of the article is, "High court trims Miranda warning rights bit by bit." In the article the following is excerpt:

The Supreme Court made major revisions to the now familiar Miranda warnings this year. The rulings will change the ways police, lawyers and criminal suspects interact amid what experts call an attempt to pull back some of the rights that Americans have become used to over recent decades.

The high court has made clear it's not going to eliminate the requirement that police officers give suspects a Miranda warning, so it is tinkering around the edges, said Jeffrey L. Fisher, co-chair of the amicus committee of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
"It's death by a thousand cuts," Fisher said. "For the past 20-25 years, as the court has turned more conservative on law and order issues, it has been whittling away at Miranda and doing everything it can to ease the admissibility of confessions that police wriggle out of suspects."

The court placed limits on the so-called Miranda rights three times during the just-ended session.

You see if the Teabaggers were really serious about preserving their rights, they would have been marching against the assault on our Constitutional Rights regarding unauthorized domestic Wire Taps without FISA Court approval, as was started in the Bush/Cheney Administration and continued carried by the Obama Administration. Instead, many in the Tea Bag movement are still questioning whether President Obama was elected legitimately, since they claim he was not born in the U.S. They complained they didn't want Government involvement in their Healthcare, even though many love their Medicare. They complained about Death Panels, even though no such thing was ever considered. You see, much of what they seem to stand for is fraudulent to the original Tea Bag movement on taxation without representation. We have the lowest taxes we have ever had as a country and that is why we are broke. They want the Bush Tax cuts to stay in effect, even though it will represent over 30% of the deficit we have as a country, and when you add in the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars spending, it adds up to virtually the entire Budget Deficit for the next 10 years.

Looking at the chart above from an article by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, you can clearly see that the Bush Tax cuts are responsible for a significant portion of the deficit in the coming decade. And do you think Tea Baggers want these tax cuts to continue? You bet they do. Just ask former Republican Representative from Texas, Dick Armey, one of the founders of the Tea Bag movement. Oh, and by the way, it was the same Dick Armey that was in favor of open Immigration across our borders and also favored a Free Enterprise System of little, if any, or no regulation. You see they are frauds. If nothing else, their positions are inconsistent, as are also the Republican leaders of the Senate. Their entire game plan is to deny President Obama (and the country) any success out of the messes they have helped create in the first place.

What's really at stake in the November Presidential election? The direction of the Supreme Court and whether our Constitutional rights are protected!!

Yes, history is being made this year by who we chose as our next President. Some see the historical choices between whether we choose an African-American or our oldest President. But others see this election as a battle for the essence of our way of life: for the next President will most likely appoint at least one new Supreme Court Justice and possibly 2. This will determine many issues near and dear to the hearts of all Americans. Will the Court continue its right leaning direction where the right of habeas corpus was suspended? Will the Court eliminate the rights of people to determine what choices they are allowed to make regarding end of life decisions when those individuals can't decide for themselves, as was the case with the family of Terri Schiavo? Will a woman have dominion over her own body in deciding whether or not to continue an unwanted pregnancy? Will the Executive Branch have sole discretion as to renditions of foreign citizens off the streets of cities all over the world? Will the Executive Branch be allowed to determine when it wiretaps U.S. citizens without the approval of the FISA Court?

We are stuck with the likes of Anthony Scalia, Clarence Thomas, and Samuel Alito for many years to come, as Supreme Court Justices serve for life. The next President will determine whether our Constitution is upheld or trashed, as has been the case these past 7 plus years under President Bush and Vice President Cheney.

Some decisions have been close as was the recent split decision of the Court regarding reinstating habeas corpus for detainees in Guantanamo. Sec. of Defense Robert Gates wants to shut down Guantanamo as he sees it as a stain on the reputation of the U.S. around the world. Both Barack Obama and John McCain also want to shut it down for similar reasons.

But here we have President Bush and Vice President Cheney who saw fit to bypass the law and put these prisoners there keeping them from our legal system and the scrutiny and fairness which our judicial system is known for throughout the world. They were allowed to do this by the Republican Congress and then supported defacto by the Democratic Congress, too afraid to challenge this President. The media was also complicit by not challenging this President often enough. It took regular lawyers trying to preserve the Constitution to take up the cause of these prisoners who don't really deserve it, to stand up and be willing to fight this battle, not for the prisoners but for our way of life. They believed the Constitution is important enough to fight for. Many on the right see them as unpatriotic. I see them as the most patriotic and I salute them all. We need all 3 branches of government functioning properly. We have had both the Congress and Executive Branch functioning terribly. We almost had the Judiciary branch doing the same if it were not for the 5 voting in favor of restoring habeas corpus and striking down 2 other times the Bush Administration's attempts of circumventing our Constitution.

So what is at stake in the election in November is enormous and will determine the kind of country we live in for the next generation. Get involved in this one as your life depends on it as does the very life of this blessed country. If you are not registered to vote make it a priority in your life.

This Presidential election is about Washington insiders arguing nuances versus real change in the politic and substance.

This election for President has all the signs of being a battle between the insiders in washington and not aligned to the wishes of the electorate. What do I mean here? Well, take for example the illegal wiretapping of our phones by the Bush Administration without the FISA Court approval. The Senate has passed a Bill to grant immunity from prosecution of the Telephone companies. The House it appears is now willing to pass a similar Bill. That's what the Insiders in Washington, the elected Representatives and Senators are doing. These are the same people who are supposed to be representing the people's business, not the Corporations business nor the Executive Branch's interests. But they lack the guts to do what's really right here.

So the upcoming election between the certain candidacy of Sen. John McCain and say, Hillary Clinton, will be arguing about nuances and defending positions that are not those of the American people. This is looking more and more like an inside the Beltway race and we are all the losers in this, unless we dare to choose Barack Obama for President. If people in Texas, Ohio, and Vermont vote for Barack in overwhelm ing numbers, this might actually turn into a campaign of the insider (John McCain) versus the new ideas and politic of Sen. Barack Obama. Dare they vote putting their country and their self interests first this time. I hope so for all our sake.

Obama wins Wisconsin and Hawaii by wide margins!

Yes it's true, Barack Obama has maintained his momentum and won the Primary, over Hillary. Thank you Wisconsin and Hawaii! Yes many hope Obama can help change America. We agree that much needs to be changed. Today was proof of that. Today the Supreme Court decided NOT to decide the issue as to whether the President has violated the law when he authorized a bypass of the FISA Court to listen to our phone calls. You see the next President is important to this country and we need to get behind Obama and support him to help us make the change. Will the change be what we all want? No! But it will be as our Founding Fathers wanted, a majority can make some positive change to deal with the issues of bankruptcy of our country, sacrifice by those who can afford to help the country. It is up to us to have the courage to vote our heart and our spirit. He is the one!

Headline reads: Bush says Congress putting US in danger

The headline should read, " America says Bush puts U.S. in danger!" Here we have fear mongering by this President and his Vice President, along with the Republican Lackeys. They are worrying over the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act not being approved by Congress. It is set to expire Feb. 1st. The Bill authorizes for the spying on all foreign and domestic calls without getting approval from the FISA Court. The argument is that the "red tape" causes delays and we will be vulnerable to attacks when the law expires. What a bunch of Bull.

First, according to all intelligence accounts, Al-Qaeda takes as much as 5 years to plan an attack. We have been spying supposedly on them all this time since the law was approved back after 9-11, so the fact that Congress is going out on a 10 day recess, doesn't make us any more vulnerable than having Bush in office another 10 days. Oops, maybe I should really be concerned after all. Congress please take this Bill up when you return from recess and this time vote it down officially! The Bush Administration must get approval from the FISA Court and the Telephone companies should not be granted immunity for going along with the Bush Administration attempts to circumvent the Court.
