Virginia Tech tragedy

Virginia Tech shootings and the questions raised will be front and center for weeks to come if not longer. Commentators mentioned that on opening day there was an incident, there has been a bomb threat last week and many wonder why all the violence, as this is unique to the United States. It is the biggest school tragedy in U.S. history. Did this tragedy occur because we have become a violent society? Is it because guns are easily obtained and there are more guns per capita here than in most other places in the world, probably with the exception of Iraq? Will the NRA (National Rifle Association), which is headquartered in Virginia, rebuke calls for more gun control which is most certain to be voiced? Or is it because we see and hear about the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq all the time?
