Is there a connection? Abramoff and Bush kowtowing U.S. attorneys?

Tom Delay's conflict of interest is apparent during his conversation with Chris Mathews today on Hardball. Delay has much to lose by association, as it was Duke Cunningham's conviction in Southern California by the fired U.S, attorney Carol Lamb that help put him behind bars. This was all connected to the Jack Abramoff scandal of buying privilege and access to President Bush. And this touches Tom Delay. His interest in stopping all investigations is obvious. His motives are self serving and despicable. Delay, Gonzales, Bush, Myers et al represent the Texas good ole boys (and gal) network.

It is very interesting to me that all the noise about Abramoff willing to expose more Congressmen to U.S. attorneys has gone totally quiet over the past 5 months. Could it be connected to U.S. Attorney's being fired? Was pressure exerted on the U.S. attorney who was in charge of the Abramoff matter? We may never know, but I think it worthy for us to ask what happened there as well. It was only a year ago (March 29, 2006) when this was reported by the Washington Post:

"U.S. District Judge Paul C. Huck sentenced Abramoff, 47, and his former partner Adam Kidan, 41, to the shortest possible prison terms under sentencing guidelines after prosecutors affirmed that both men have been aiding the ongoing investigations and had expressed remorse. Abramoff's attorneys said he has reviewed "thousands of documents" in the inquiry, which could reach members of Congress, congressional staff members and employees of federal agencies, including the Interior Department.

They're both trying to atone by cooperating," Assistant U.S. Attorney Lawrence D. LaVecchio said in court."

Chris Mathews on Senator Biden's plan for Iraq

Chris Mathews, of MSNBC's Hardball, today told Senator Joe Biden he agreed that the Senator had the only plan for Iraq that made sense and acknowledged the realities on the ground, not based upon what Iraqi's say but on what they are doing. The Senator's plan has been shown in an earlier post below and may gain more support, as his new Resolution to limit the power of the President and repeal the 2002 vote which authorized the war gets more attention in the press. Get informed and read Biden's plan and press your local Senator's to embrace it.

Today the Administration tried to influence many by challenging the proposed idea of Biden to limit the President's authority. This eventually will be headed to the Supreme Court and Biden is right; pressure is building.

What is VP Cheney's game plan in the Scooter Libby trial? My predictions..

That is the question of the day. I have written extensively on Cheney's arrogance and chutzpah. How does he plan to deal with Prosecutors in this trial? My belief is that his strategy is not to have Scooter Libby be the fall guy, as has been mentioned already in the press. However, what has not been written is how does he plan to do this given he is going to testify on Libby's behalf. I believe that Cheney himself, will take the hit for Libby including admitting to any possible violations of the law regarding disclosing Classified information, as he plans to get a pardon from President Bush, for all possible crimes he may be charged with, before he leaves office. Watch this unfold and remember you read it first here. Only a person of this level of arrogance would be this way without first securing a promised pardon from the President.

I think we owe Chris Mathews of MSNBC's Hardball, a debt of gratitude, for initiating the questions about the State of the Union claims by the President that Iraq was pursuing yellow cake uranium from Niger. Cheney knew it was a bogus claim but wanted it that way. Those unanswered questions , instigated by Chris, occupied the attention of Cheney to the point where he personally managed the project to discredit Wilson and tried to manage the media through his chief of staff Scooter Libby and others. Cheney wanted to see the transcripts of Chris's show each day on this topic as he was obsessed according to yesterday's court proceedings.

Thanks so much Chris. Keep up the pressure. We need answers and accountability!
