Outrage over Taser use at UCLA campus

Horrifying, disgusting and very sad; these were the first words that came to mind as I watched the video clip of the student who was Tasered for not showing his ID card to UCLA police. They must have given him at least 3 separate shocks, any one of which could have killed the student.

Is this what we've become? Has violence become the first reaction to civil disobedience? It used to be that if a student did something like not wanting to show an ID card, they would carry the person out of the building. Now we have become a society of fear mongers. I can't imagine what the UCLA police feared that they were willing to use a Taser on him. The students only weapon was maybe the computer screen he was watching or sitting at and apparently working, when the UCLA police approached and asked the student for his student ID.

He was probably removed from the building and because of the increased powers this Republican Congress gave this President, they may have declared the student an "Enemy Combatant" and whisked him off to GITMO. Shame shame and more shame. We have brought this upon ourselves by allowing fear to occupy every conversation the past 6 years. Now even campus police worry in an exaggerated way and respond accordingly.

See the video clip here yourself and make up your own mind. I warn you the video clip is disturbing, but not as disturbing as these were actions of the UCLA police. God help us.
